Body and Consumption

Textile Art : Woven Installation

Floor Loom Weaving, Sustainable, Naturally Dyed , Hand Manipulation

The artwork delves into the intersection of the human body and consumer culture, examining the profound impact of fast consumerism on our mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Through my artwork, I aim to highlight the pervasive pressure to conform to societal ideals and trends, leading to a perpetual cycle of dissatisfaction and desire. Each piece reflects a mindful approach, with materials and techniques chosen deliberately to align with my concept. At the heart of my exploration lies "THE BODY," a textile representation crafted from naturally dyed yarns, symbolizing the flesh and skin. Through this artwork, I invite viewers to contemplate the complex relationship between consumerism and the human experience.

The Human Body: skin, flesh, guts
Dimensions: 1ft x 6yards

"The human body is a masterpiece of intricate design, yet in a culture driven by consumerism, it becomes a canvas upon which societal ideals are projected. Our mental, physical, and emotional landscapes are shaped by the relentless pressure to conform, leading to a constant quest for more. Through mindful exploration and artistic expression, we unveil the complexities of this relationship, reminding ourselves that amidst the allure of trends, our bodies remain the truest expression of ourselves."
