Contemporary Weaving

Using weaving as a technique to express unique textiles, surfaces and Patterns

The series is about materials , structures , colors and Textures : Creative expression of developing textile samples

Re-Purpose -

Paper Textiles

This textile series explores the concept of paper as a distinct textile medium, featuring bold and abstract prints that reflect consumer culture and modern aesthetics. Through this work, I aim to examine and reinterpret the value of packaging and its impact on global consumption and the environment. As a textile artist, my goal is to deconstruct and reconstruct these elements to highlight how consumerism distorts our needs and affects the future of our planet.

Re-Imagined

This series reimagines leather as a structural element for weaving, combining it with fibers, bioplastics and plastic to explore new textures and designs. By cropping, adding, subtracting, multiplying, braiding, and weaving, I enjoy experimenting with the material and colors. I utilize discarded leather samples from Herman Miller stores in New York to test various surface treatments, creating unique textiles. These initial samples are intended for products such as table coasters, wall art, placemats, and other home decor items. The project highlights sustainable practices by repurposing leather waste and pushing the boundaries of traditional textile techniques..

Bioplastics

This series focuses on creating and weaving bioplastics into various forms such as ropes, yarns, embellishments, and abstract inorganic shapes. These samples are part of a larger textile series titled "Body and Consumption," which aims to juxtapose bioplastic leather against traditional leather to highlight the impacts of overconsumption in contemporary society. By experimenting with bioplastic materials, the project not only explores innovative textile techniques but also addresses environmental concerns. It reflects on the unsustainable practices of modern consumerism and its effects on both the body and the environment, urging a reevaluation of material usage in design and production.
